Nothing Matters More Than Your Health. Our Results Show We Can Help

Defective motorcycles can hurt Floridians

We live in a world full of products. We sleep on one kind of product. We cook our food using a different set of products. We go to work using yet another form of product. These products, in turn, consist of a combination of yet more products. Normally these products work as intended. But sometimes they don't. These defects can hurt unlucky Floridians.

Consider, for example, motorcycle accidents. Most motorcycles work as advertised. But, product recalls happen all the time. Sometimes the recall is triggered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Other times the manufacturer will voluntary instigate the recall.

When a recall happens, the manufacturer must issue a public report describing the problem, the vehicle and the key events leading to the recall. The report must also describe the solution to the problem and the schedule for recalling the motorcycle. The NHTSA then publicizes the recall further. As part of the recall, the manufacturer, rather than the consumer, is responsible for covering the cost of remedying the safety problems.

Careful readers will notice that the recall report must discuss key events. That is an anesthetized way of saying that the report must normally reference motorcycle accidents that took place, leading to the manufacturer realizing a defect existed.

Unfortunately, that means the recall comes only after the defect has harmed people. Floridians in this group may benefit from discussing their situations with an experienced motorcycle-accident attorney. That conversation could be the start towards not only holding the responsible manufacturer accountable, but also receiving the compensation the injured person needs and deserves to get through a difficult time.
