3 things you didn't know about riding a motorcycle in Florida

Riding a motorcycle gives you a sensation of being free. You love the wind in your hair, the sun on your back and the feeling of being closer to nature. It's an adrenaline rush, but you know there are risks. What happens if you're hit by a car? You could end up with serious injuries.

Car accidents: Florida driver killed in 2-car collision

When Florida residents get behind the wheel, they likely do not expect to have their lives disrupted by a collision. Besides possible property damage, car accidents can often result in serious injuries or even fatalities, which are issues no one wants to experience. One family lost a loved one in a recent accident that is still being investigated.

Auto accidents in Florida often result in fatalities

There are many factors that can lead to roadway collisions in Florida. Though many drivers carefully follow the rules of the road, mistakes can still happen that result in the frequent occurrence of auto accidents. One recent accident that caused the death of two people and injured several others is still under investigation.

Car accidents can cause fatalities when drivers are negligent

Because of the significant amount of vehicles on roadways these days, collisions occur all too frequently. When drivers are negligent, the risk of car accidents goes up. A recent Florida accident left two men dead and three women injured because of the actions of a negligent driver.

Mitigating damages in car accidents

In some car accident cases, the judge denies compensation because the person who got injured could have taken better care of themselves. Sometimes you might get injured through no fault of your own, and still be responsible because you did not do enough to reduce the damage or take reasonable care. This is called mitigating damages and it plays an important role in car accident compensation cases.

Negligent drivers often cause auto accidents in Florida

There are many reasons a driver might be considered negligent in the aftermath of a crash. Drinking and driving, texting while driving or even failure to remain aware of surroundings can all lead to auto accidents. Police reports indicate that the third example is the likely cause of a recent Florida accident that led to one fatality.

Florida families may consider wrongful death claim after tragedy

No family wants to hear that their loved ones were involved in a car accident, especially when it causes fatalities. Unfortunately, two families received this devastating news after two University of Florida students were killed in a car wreck. Though no criminal charges have been filed as a result of the collision, the families may seek justice by working with an attorney to file a wrongful death claim in civil court.

Florida motorcycle accidents often lead to fatalities

Being cautious behind the wheel is sometimes not enough to protect Florida drivers from motor vehicle accidents. This is particularly true for motorcyclists. Motorcycle accidents are too often the cause of other motorists failing to pay attention to their surroundings. A recent accident led to the death of one motorcyclist and injured others involved.

A motorcycle safety course could save your life

Staying safe on a motorcycle requires a combination of skill and experience. While some people choose to develop their skills on the road, it is not the ideal place. Whether you are a new rider or getting back in the saddle after a several years, a motorcycle safety course could be the difference between walking away from an accident and never getting on a bike again.

Fiery crash leaves on Florida driver dead

It started with a stolen car and ended with an innocent life being taken away. Police say a 19-year-old Florida man stole a Honda Acura and was driving at a high rate of speed when he ran a red light and slammed into another vehicle. The collision sent the other vehicle careening into a nearby business, where the car caught fire and killed the person inside.

Baby rattle recalled for choking hazard

When we buy toys for our children, we expect them to have gone through a rigorous testing process. By the time they're on the shelves and ready to go into consumers' homes, we assume they're safe and don't pose a threat to our children. Unfortunately, that's not always the case, as a recent massive recall demonstrates.
