Florida commercial vehicle accidents often result in fatalities

Car wrecks can result not only in serious property damage, but also severe injuries. This can be devastating for those involved as well as for their families. Commercial vehicle accidents are often worse due to their size and the force behind the vehicles. One Florida family is mourning the loss of a loved one after she was killed in an accident involving two tractor-trailers.

While driving on the interstate, the victim was situated between two tractor-trailers. Traffic ahead began to slow down, but the truck driver behind the victim failed to notice. The truck slammed into the back of her car, pushing the car into the back of the truck ahead of her.

Traffic was backed up on the interstate for over 14 hours. The victim was taken to a local hospital following the crash. Police reports did not reveal the specific details of her injuries. Tragically, the injuries the victim suffered were severe enough that she died around 3 a.m. Police did not report any injuries for the truck drivers.

When collisions like this occur, families of the victims may consider filing wrongful death claims to help find some form of closure. If their claim should succeed in civil court, they could receive monetary damages to help pay for medical bills, funeral costs and any other financial expenses related to the accident. Any Florida residents who have lost family members to commercial vehicle accidents could consult experienced personal injury attorneys for more information about wrongful death claims and assistance in filing them.
