Florida motorcycle accidents often prove fatal

Motor vehicle collisions have become a common occurrence on roadways. While wrecks between larger vehicles may not result in more than a dented bumper, motorcycle accidents can easily lead to serious injuries or deaths. One Florida man lost his life due to the injuries he suffered in a recent collision with a car.

The motorcyclist was heading south on a local highway on the morning of March 25 when the crash occurred. A driver in a car claimed that he did not see the motorcycle and attempted to pull out of the driveway of a restaurant. In doing so, he crossed the lane the motorcyclist was in, causing the bike to crash into the back of the car.

The biker was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. It is unknown whether the victim was wearing a helmet or any other safety devices. The driver of the car was not injured in the accident and authorities did not state what charges, if any, the driver of the car may face.

When fatal motorcycle accidents like this occur, the family of the victim has the right to file a wrongful death lawsuit. If it can be proved that the other driver was negligent, the victim's family could be awarded monetary damages to help cover the cost of medical bills, funeral costs or any other financial expenses related to the collision. An experienced Florida personal injury attorney could provide families with more information about filing a claim as well as advice and assistance throughout the legal proceedings.
