Overcome the main hurdle in motorcycle accident cases

As we have previously mentioned, Florida is a great place for motorcycles. The consistently warm, fair weather, and long stretches of relatively flat road make the state a haven for many who enjoy getting out on their bikes. Unfortunately, the state also leads the country in the percentage of its motor vehicle accident fatalities involving a motorcyclist. One reason for this may be the fact that the state doesn't require adults to don a helmet when riding, but there are likely many other factors in play as well.

Obviously, and as has been pointed out before, a motorcycle's small size and weight compared to other vehicles on Florida's roads can impact the severity of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident. Couple this with the lack of protection offered by the vehicle to its driver, and it is little wonder that many accidents involving motorcycles cause terrible, and possibly fatal, injuries.

When a crash occurs, the injured victim may be entitled to legal compensation from the other involved party or parties if the victim was not entirely at fault. Unfortunately, because most people are aware of the dangers inherent in riding a motorcycle, many people, consciously or unconsciously, feel that those who ride these vehicles are being reckless just by doing so. This can color their perception of fault in accident situations, even when the other driver may actually be at fault for speeding or failure to yield.

It is important to recognize this human tendency, as when a case for compensation is put to a court, it is often a jury of other people who are considering it. Attempting to combat this potential inherent bias against motorcycle riders can be the difference in recovering much needed compensation and leaving empty-handed. Experienced Florida motorcycle accident attorneys may have the tools to help injured bikers get the compensation to which they are entitled.
