Families of fatal accident victims may file wrongful death claims

Motor vehicle accidents can take place under a variety of circumstances, but the result is often the same. Countless wrongful death claims have been filed by grieving families who lost a loved one on account of another driver's negligent actions. A recent accident in Florida claimed the life of a 49-year-old man after another vehicle reportedly ran through a stop sign.

According to reports, the man was driving north and approaching an intersection when another driver failed to obey a stop sign. This vehicle subsequently slammed into his, forcing him to hit another vehicle as well before his car was apparently sent through the air, eventually landing on top of the first vehicle. The man and his passenger were both rushed to the hospital shortly thereafter.

The passenger reportedly remains in critical condition, while the man unfortunately passed away. An investigation has apparently taken place, but there was no indication of why the other driver may have ran though the stop sign. Although locals apparently assert the sign is partially hidden by leaves, there are various other reasons a person might miss a traffic sign, such as distraction or impairment.

Families who are forced to endure the loss of a loved one in a car accident often face numerous hardships, emotional and financial alike. Although grief may ease with time, the monetary ramifications of such a tragic incident can be challenging to overcome, and families may often choose to seek compensation with the assistance of an experienced attorney. A personal injury attorney can evaluate the situation and assist a client in Florida in filing a wrongful death claim against the party deemed at fault.
