Florida car accidents may lead to fatalities

When drivers fail to obey traffic laws, collisions are likely to happen. Often, these types of car accidents can lead to serious injury for those unlucky enough to be involved. Tragically, many of those injuries result in fatalities. One Florida man was recently killed in such an accident.

Florida Highway Patrol reported that the victim was attempting to make a left turn when the crash happened. For reasons that are still unclear, the other driver involved was driving the wrong way down the road. That driver's vehicle hit the victim's van. The force of the impact caused the van to flip several times.

Though the details of his injuries were not released, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision by first responders. The driver believed to be responsible for the crash suffered minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital. The crash remains under investigation, and troopers have indicated that charges are pending for the driver thought to be at fault.

When tragedies like this occur, families often face a financial burden on top of the emotional one. To help with this, families who have lost loved ones in car accidents may choose to file wrongful death claims against responsible drivers in civil court. If the claims are successful, families could then be awarded monetary damages that could help pay for medical bills, funeral costs and any other related financial expenses. Anyone interested in learning more about this type of claim could consult an experienced Florida personal injury attorney for more information.
