Motorcycle accidents: Man killed after thrown from bike

The almost year-round warm weather of Florida makes it an environment favorable for motorcycle riding. Of course, with more bike riders on the road, more serious motorcycle accidents may occur. Unfortunately, there may a bias against motorcyclists as they are often viewed as fast and risky riders, though the truth is that many such accidents are caused by the negligence of others. Victims of collisions often find it beneficial to have an attorney advocate on their behalf following a collision. One family may choose to seek the advice of an attorney after the recent death of their loved one in a fatal collision.

The accident investigation has not been completed, but the details available indicate that the motorcycle rider was traveling east when the accident occurred. The 23-year-male was on his 2011 motorcycle when he collided with a sports utility vehicle attempting to make a left turn. The sports utility vehicle was driving westbound on the same street.

Initial investigation findings indicated that the SUV was turning left on a yellow light. The motorcyclist crashed into his right side as he was turning. Sadly, the young bike rider did not survive his injuries. The cyclist's speed is unknown, but witnesses report he may have been speeding.

When motorcycle accidents occur, bike riders are sometimes blamed before an accident investigation has been completed. Because of the stereotype, many riders or families of deceased victims find it beneficial to have an attorney's advice throughout the process, especially in a comparative negligence state like Florida where fault may be apportioned between two or more drivers. Personal injury attorneys can also assist victims through the insurance claim process or inform families of deceased victims of the options to file a wrongful death lawsuit in civil court.
