Car accidents: Young couple and unborn child killed in collision

When most Florida couples announce their engagement to family and friends, they have hopes and dreams for a long future together. Unfortunately for one couple, their bright future came to a quick end after one of Florida's recent fatal car accidents. It is a tragedy no one saw coming, including the couple.

The young couple met at the University of Central Florida just three years ago and recently got engaged. Apparently, the couple had just been visiting with family, and sadly, no one knew it would be the last time they would ever see the couple. The woman's father proudly recounted that his future son-in-law had respectfully asked for permission to marry his daughter. Not only was the couple expecting to begin married life together, but they had also recently discovered that they would be first-time parents.

After a recent visit with family, the couple was traveling home by highway. For unknown reasons, a 21-year-old male was driving the wrong way. His vehicle collided head-on with the couple's car, and all three were seriously injured. The couple was transported for emergency medical care, but they did not survive. The wrong-way driver also did not survive.

Accident investigators will be sure to document the details of what led to the tragic accident. As with car accidents such as this one, blood samples to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor were drawn from the drivers. Accidents such as this one are understandably devastating for a family to lose multiple loved ones at the same time. Families who have suffered similar losses may choose to seek advice from a personal injury attorney in Florida to discuss the possibility of filing a wrongful death lawsuit in civil court against those parties deemed negligent; in this case, that would likely be the estate of the wrong-way driver and any separate owner of the vehicle he was operating at the time of the crash.
