Premises liability: Woman injured on ride at Disneyland

Health care in the Florida and throughout the United States is expensive. When accidents occur, a victim can be subject to numerous medical expenses that can result in financial stress. One woman in another state experienced a mouth injury after a ride malfunction at Disney World's sister park, Disneyland. She has filed a personal injury and premises liability lawsuit against Disneyland for alleged negligence.

The 52-year-old woman is married and a mother of three children. On the day of the accident, she was enjoying the Disneyland park with her sister and nephews. The accident occurred on a river raft ride called the Grizzly River Run.

Apparently, a Disney representative confirmed that the ride experienced a mechanical malfunction resulting in the woman's raft colliding with a wall. The woman's teeth were cracked as a result of the unexpected impact.  According to the lawsuit, a nurse employed by Disney and other employees evaluated and checked on the woman following the accident. Over the course of the last two years, the woman has been diagnosed with temporomandibular joint dysfunction or TMJD as a result of the injury. Reportedly, the disorder causes the woman a significant amount of pain, and she is expected to need more oral surgery.

Injured victims may not be aware of all the expenses an injury may cost over the course of treatment. In similar cases, injured victims may require years of treatment for what appears to be a simple injury. When it becomes clear that injuries may result in financial hardship, some victims may find it beneficial to speak to an attorney in Florida about filing a premises liability lawsuit against suspected negligent parties. When victims are awarded monetary damages, many find it helps to provide finances for necessary medical treatment.
